Rewind Network Marks Major Malaysia Milestone With Launch Of Hits Movies On Astro

HITS MOVIES joins Astro’s HD lineup as complimentary preview from 17 January 2020

Singapore, 10 January, 2020

Rewind Networks today announced the launch of HITS MOVIES in Malaysia through a carriage deal with Astro, Malaysia’s leading multi-platform content and consumer company. At launch, HITS MOVIES will be available on Channel 401 in High Definition as part of a complimentary preview for 2 months to all Astro customers.

The launch marks HITS MOVIES first foray into Malaysia – bringing the channel to its fifth market after Singapore, Indonesia, The Philippines and Sri Lanka bringing the total to more than 7 million homes. The Malaysia launch comes a few months after HITS MOVIES celebrated its one-year anniversary in October 2019. HITS MOVIES joins sister channel HITS, which has been on Astro (Channel 720) since November 2014.

HITS MOVIES celebrates the best blockbuster films ever made from the ‘60s to the ‘90s. The channel’s slate includes hot favorites like The Sound of Music, Sister Act, Magnificent Seven, Freaky Friday (1976), Mary Poppins, Teen Wolf, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Clueless and Alien. The channel features a carefully curated selection of hit films from Hollywood majors such as The Walt Disney Company, 20th Century Fox, MGM Studios, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros and Sony Pictures and will be progressively introducing more titles from other leading studios.
